Not sure if I agree with some of the picks, but the Sonata and Fusion are nice cars. The Accord and Corolla are just a given.

I rented an Optima. It was, in every way, a lump of car. Not one thing was good or bad about it.

I'd stay away from anything made by Kia. The ones I see on the road do not appear to age well. They seem to be driven mostly by people who want a new car and can't afford anything better.

Though it pains me to say this, I think the Fusion is the best choice of the bunch.

+1 on the Fusion or the Ford 500. There are lots of Wal Mart vendor folks around that drive hte Fusion, 500, or Taurus. All solid and comfortable cars IMO.

The back seats of 500s are HUGE.... It would be a very good family car.

I like the Fusion, and he LOVES them, but we couldn't find one under $7,000. They're firm on the $7,000. I asked if they'd go higher, and I got a detailed and personal response why they won't. I'll forward him the list. Thanks Drew.
