Absolutely mind-blowing style in person.

Took a few pictures of the one on the lot:

Really like the interior panel and the button in place of the interior handle. The outside recessed handle like the Corvette looks great as well.

$72400! It's too much for this. Plus 10% CA tax. No way! But I like the color... :)

Still like my V better.
The side and back look stubby like a Nissan.

I hope I don't end up buying one after saying that!

I think I'll take the fender side vents and the rear wheels for my car.

Looks killer! 10" wide rear wheels, nice :) Anyone know the offset?

agree, looks like the aborted fetus of new Acura TL. And I'm usually a big fan of coupe variants compared to their sedan siblings. Also agree with crawfish, car is overpriced.

Man that's a lot of coin... Glad I jumped on the rebate last year.

Wonder how you get out if the battery dies?

The button on the door handle is similar to the Vette. They have a manual release, I think it's along the floor next to the seat, if the battery is dead.

Yep... Big butt, more odd angles, little rear visibility, less room, less headroom in back, less trunk space, blah, blah, blah.

Happen to be driving by my local dealership yesterday. They had a standard silver CTS coupe, outside by their front doors. So I decided to drive in, luckily they were closed. Spent 45 minutes of daylight going over every inch of the car. Today, I went by to sit in it.

I'm in love.... Boy, does it look good. You really need to see it in person. I've driven my wife past it twice. She knows I've got the bug. I'm still trying to talk myself out of it. I should really get the sedan, it's more practical blah, blah, blah. Wish me luck...

I think the different angles and rear being so high off the ground is going to create love and hate relationships.

I have seen a regular coupe in person, and granted it wasn't a V, but it just looked awkward to me. I think it is the continuous slope from the roofline to the rear of the car. I think it would have looked better with a short trunk and lower the rear diffuser some, not to mention the fact that by doing that they could have added a couple of gallons to the fuel tank???

If you look at the window trim on the sides it looks like neither one of them lines up correctly and I hope it is just the reflections, but it doesn't appear so.

Thanks for the pics. For the sake of Cadillac trying to reinvent things with their model line I don't know if this car will be a success or not. Only time will tell.

It won't be a success. It's too expensive and too UGLY :thehand:

Paying $70k for a Cadillac is enough already when it's a 4-door, 5-seater. Charging a premium for a 2-door with a fat ass isn't going to go over well.

Now lets keep in mind, the one shown is fully loaded at $72K, and starts at $62K. There are a number of 3 series that hit that level of cost, coupe, convertible, sedan, and not just the M3. Complain all you like, but there is no arguing that the CTS-V coupe is a lot of car for the money. Taste and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

With 8.75% tax in my area of Ca brings this sticker to $78735, sadly I may have to reconsider:rant2:

At least GM is kind enough to install Sham-WOWs into the door accent panels :cookoo: That yellow trim is repugnant.

M3 Coupe is more expensive then the M3 Sedan...so I dont see how that will hurt Cadillac and not BMW...

You know, I really get the impression you just don't like GM. Euro cars are ridiculously priced as well. Some really like the sham wow on their doors, others don't. I will never understand how someone could pay so much for an M3 when all the body panel gaps are so damn wide! Ever look at the gaps on an M3 convertible? Unacceptable! Yet the sheep still flock to it.

Caddyscat, you're rather astute. I don't like GM's quality or the fanboys who defend the poor quality as "OK" because it's an American car. I also don't like GM's bankruptcy, their poor business model of having 6,000+ dealerships in the US, or their arrogance at the dealerships. I've owned plenty of GMs to speak from experience. I like the CTS-V, it's why I'm on this forum, but there are many GMish things about it that I think are inexcusable.

Regarding the CTS-V coupe's rear end design, just read around. I'm far from the only person who considers it oversized, fat, and poorly designed from a cosmetic standpoint. The front end looks great. Rear end looks like a severely obese plus-sized model in tight clothes.

Everybody said the butt of the C-5 Vette is too big (it was so different from the C4) and yet it is one of the most universally accepted and popular Vette of all time. Some people just don't accept change, they have a preconceived notion of what a car should look like. The critics have been raving about the looks of this car since it was first exposed, and the reviewers are continuing that rave. "Sexy" and "manly" are words that have been used. One even went on to say something like "not only is it probably the best looking Cadillac of all time, it may arguably be the best looking car on the road today".

I'm curious which reviewer said that?

I'm asking so I can cancel my subscription to whichever magazine let that verbal blasphemy go to print...:alchi: j/k <--JOKING

But seriously, who said that?

Have you seen one in person yet Mugatu? I haven't and I think it looks ass fat as well, but EVERYONE says you have to see it in person which makes me believe it's one of THOSE cars you just have to see. I personally don't like frame-less windows either.

I have seen one, in LA.

It reminds me of the impression the Porsche Panamera made on me...I was hoping that car wouldn't look as hideous in person as it does, but it does and so does the CTS-V coupe. I'm sure that will set off a sh*t storm here with the Caddy fanboys, oh well.

My favorite part of the V Coupe's rear design is the dual shotgun-style exhaust. The ass end is too tall for my tastes though, and far too bulky. It LOOKS like they bolted a big 'ghetto booty' onto the car. But then again I like 4-doors and the coupe isn't in my sights anyway. I hope it sells well for them; my opinion is that it may not.

I've seen it in person and I think it's better looking than the sedan. It looks a lot more agressive / cooler especially from the side and 3/4 rear view / back.
