Stumbled on this today and thought it was something you'd think was neat. I know they made package mercs until about '84 but this is the only one I have seen since I was a kid (probably 20 years).

That's a very optimistic seller.

I wasn't suggesting anyone buy it, I just came across it and thought it was neat. I like oddball stuff.

A rusty car that does not start and staring bid is 1500$ !

That is soooo novel! I can't believe there were Mercury Marquis police cars! WOW! In MN where I grew up there were Dodge St. Regis state trooper cars - with the hideaway headlights and all - they were super cool! There was a senior officer in the area I lived who held on to his 73 Plymouth Fury standard issue patrol car until the late 1970's, immaculate car and oh so classic. :)

That's odd, I wonder why any precinct would order a GM versus a CV? I do like seeing that big square '80s style speedometer read all the way up to 135 though, lol.

The fact it has those godawful variable venturis though is reason enough not to buy it, even if it was in mint condition. Cool find though.

I could have sworn I've seen some police package Grand Marquis of the current body style. I don't remember if it was in a movie or what though...
