Hello again and happy 4th ............. :D

I need to buy new rotors and have some questions.

Anyone here had problems with finding rotors that actully fits?

Someone told me that i could use late 70's rotors witout problems.
I only wan't to change the disc's and pads.

I don't wan't to buy 200$ drilled racing stuff.
Just plain rotors that do the job.

When i look at sites with pictures of the discs
they don't have the bolts and nothing in the center?
Is it include all i'll need?

Thanks again :)

You will need wheel bearing grease seals because you will swap the inner/outer bearings to the new hub in the new rotor. Also a can of wheel bearing grease. 70 Cadillac has disc brakes? not drum. If so, the replacement rotors should have lug nut studs already in them. The auto parts store can tell you what other years these rotors fit. Are the old ones too scored to simply have turned?

only just off topic (sidestep..?).....why is it that the Eldorado rotors are so much cheaper than those for the RWD cars?

I don't have my parts guide books here, but I believe you should be able to use the rotors from any Cadillac deVille up to 1977. In 1978 GM changed the bearings they used on front discs and the newer bearings wouldn't fit the old style spindles. The bigger Buicks also used the same rotors with the 5 x 5 bolt pattern.

They are more money because they usually include studs and hubs. A front wheel drive car has no studs or bearing hubs. The rotor simply slips over the studs in the drive axle hub.
