Interesting article, but after reading it I think I'm more confused than before reading it. :bonkers:

The article basically says "For your street or stock engine, use whatever type oil floats your boat, don't sweat what's in the additive package, and don't throw vast amounts of snake oil additives in your engine oil." If you worry about your flat tappet engine, use a proper viscosity Fleet, Marine, or Diesel oil package.

The power increases or losses these guys are talking about are in tenths or hundredths of a horsepower in any given engine - nothing you can ever see/feel in a daily driver.

You'll also notice that several of the oil company reps debunk the notion that most race oils are "heavier", and if you read carefully the reasons why not are given.
