What kind of MPG are owners getting/averaging on your Vs? Let me know if you have a stick or auto. Thanks!

Automatic,
Local roads with traffic lights, suburbs,
around 12mpg, fill tank at about 180 mile range...

Auto:14-15 city, 20-21 highway (@ 75 mph). Not great but not bad enough to warrant a $2,600.00 gas guzzler tax.

Auto...combined 14.9 mpg...not too bad at all with all things considered. Performance cars in the past with lots less horsepower didn't fair this good and I didn't complain then either.

Hi,

Auto... the last 3 or 4 tanks, I'm averaging 10.7 in the city. I've been a good boy during this period.

Best regards,
Jeffrey

I track my mileage and range with every tank. Here it is for the last two months. Hey, I mostly drive Hondas, I can't help it.

Fillup date--range--mileage--price per gallon

5/3 230.3 14.6 3.12
5/22 195.3 13.3 2.82
6/3 228.9 14.7 2.88
6/8 217.8 16.0 2.79
6/13 226.5 15.2 2.84
6/18 188.0 15.0 2.97 (early fillup due to leaving for trip)

Chug a lug, chug a lug, i just love meeting new people at the gas stations :histeric: Don't even want to know the range yet, still having fun with the new car. What a difference though going from a 2009 cts with the d.i. 3.6l to this, before the gas gauge never moved, now i can't stop it from moving...

Manual transmission: 15 - 17 mpg in the city; 20 - 21 on the highway (2100 rpm). When I switched to Bridgestone run-flats, I lost about 1 mpg of highway mileage because of the heavier tires. About 340 mile range at highway speeds. All of this assumes no maximum acceleration bursts, but I'm not always a "good boy."

16.4 MPG average over the last 16 months (improvement of about 1 MPG after intake, exhaust, and tune). Up to 22 indicated MPG highway. Average MPG improved by several MPG over the first 5,000 miles. Will be resetting average after pulley and cam swap to see what the future holds.

14mpg avg over 2k miles, with a manual. I drove like a little old lady on the way to church for the first 1,000 and then drove like a wanted man for the next 1,000 miles. I suspect I'll even out around 12.

I was speaking with a friend that owns a 2007 M5 the other day and he was averaging 9. Another friend with an ML63 is averaging 8. I felt pretty good to be in double digits after talking to the two of them!

2010 w/Jesse's 9.5 pulley, 160 T-stat, intercooler heat exchanger, 3" cat-back exhaust, CAI kit, Jesse's Max tune. Around town driving hard all the time 5-7 mpg. Moderate driving 10 mpg. Just made the trip from San Diego to Portland and got 18.3 mpg with and average speed of 73 mph. On the last leg from Grant's Pass, OR to Portland we covered 243 miles in exactly 3 hours including about a 10 min. stop for gas. I-5 is brutal with 2 lanes; cars ride in the left lane and trucks in the right. To pass, you wait for a break between trucks and then pass on the right. Classic clusters of traffic and then break out and run for awhile. Last leg yielded 15.2 mpg driving 90-100 mph when possible and averaged 86 mph. Every time you find yourself behind a truck passing another truck on a grade, the average speed gets crushed. In Portland now for the summer.

I get 18.8 mpg average in my daily drive and 21 mpg on the highway (automatic). My mileage went up dramatically after the first four or five thousand miles.

For comparison, my 150 horsepower / six-cylinder pickup truck gets 15 mpg in the same daily drive. The CTS-V is several hundred pounds heavier than the truck (4170 vs 3750 pounds). My (260 HP) 1996 Impala SS got 17 mpg in the same daily drive and is almost exactly the same weight as the CTS-V. I've had them all on the scales.

<14.5mpg / tank if I'm having some fun. I can eek out 15.0mpg / tank when I keep it in the right lane during my daily commute.

After a pulley & cam swap, the future holds LOTS of trips to the gas station for you :D

After a pulley & cam swap, the future holds LOTS of trips to the gas station for you :D:yup: The ave. for the first half tank, spent shaking it down and testing the MRC sensor rods, etc. was around 9 MPG or so :lildevil: Burned the rest of the tank with more of a typical mix of "normal" freeway/city (but not *****-footing it either), and the ave. came right back up to the mid 15s (granted, for just the one tank so far).

The instantaneous readings are very interesting; at 80 MPH over level ground, I've read as high as 24 MPG--around 2 MPG higher than what I had observed before. However, as you would expect, it plummets sharply with any movement of the accelerator--and the slightest incline drives it down to like 18-19 or so.

So hopefully these early, early observations indicate that my overall mileage/range will at least be in the same ballpark, but you're right: with the pulley/cam swap, when you put your foot in it, slurpie, slurpie :D
