I ordered one of these $200.00 update disks and tried to do the install, without success. The screen shows the update version numbers, etc., when the disk is inserted, but when the, "Update", button on the screen is touched I get an error message saying I have the wrong disk, and to check version numbers, etc., and it promptly ejects the disk.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

I installed the 2010 update on my 2009 just fine. After starting the update process it prompted me for the unlock code and away it went. Took around 3 hours (didn't monitor the whole process).

When someone is done with thier update disk, Can they let me borrow it for a day or so. I need it for the OS code that is on the disk, it will allow me to hack/change the way the radios work. I know i wont be able to use it after you guys use it once and enter the code. I just need to see the boot operating system on the disk itself so i can make my own fun stuff...

Hmmm - this could be the problem since I ordered the 2009 CTS/CTS-V update disc, since, imagine that, my V2 is a 2009 model. Could be the disc sent to me is not an update for what was already installed by the dealer. The web site where these discs are ordered shows both 2009 and 2010 updates are available for my 2009 model.

Now, to try and get the vendor to take the 2009 disc back and send a 2010 disc .. jeez!:cookoo:

BTW - where did you find the activation/unlock code?

RobSounds like you did get the version you already have installed. When I first started looking for an update towards the end of last year, I wrote to them and they said the 2009 disc was what shipped with my 2009 MY. I put myself on the update notification list; after I received the notification, the 2010 disc was listed, so I ordered it.

The activation code is on the packing list. There's also a phone number on the packing list for returns--hopefully they will straighten things out for you.

^^^ Following up on this - they will send me a 2010 disc, AFTER, they receive my previously ordered 2009 disc being sent back to them at my own expense.

Another question - if the update takes 3 hours, do you put the car on a battery tender if not driving the car? Seems like it might be difficult to keep the battery alive otherwise .. ?

They say that the update will suspend when the car is off and resume the next time it is on, but I left it in accessory mode anyway and my battery was fine after it was done.

What does the Nav update do for us? What is website for ordering? I asked my dealer approx 1 month ago re update; he replied that there was none.

^^^ Go to the following web site:https://www.gmnavdisc.com/

Since you have a 2009 CTS-V, order a 2010 update disc.
