My wifes dad recently gave me a fairly optioned out 76 eldorado that I have had my eye on for a long time. It is in pretty good shape bodywise with very little rust anywhere except around the vinyl top where it held water and rusted out around the back window. My restoration on this car is going fairly well except for the fact that I want to do away with the vinyl top and go with a hard top across the back. It will look alright, except around the back and side windows, there isn't any window trim, all it is is a hole with glass recessed about a half inch behind it. I was wondering if there was anywhere where i could get a window edging kit to fill in this gap, and make it look half way factory. Also, does anybody know a respected source for replacement fender fillers? Thanks in advance.

This isn't an answer to your question, sorry. I was hoping you were going to ask how much it would be to replace the vinyl top. I did this on my 72 Olds. There was rust under the vinyl between the side window and the back window. Fixed that then spent about $250 on the vinyl top.

i dont really want to put the top back on, but i guess i might have to if i cant find the trim that i needed. A lot of the mounts for the top rusted out, but i guess i will have to make new ones. Oh well.

I do not know about a trim package that would be available if you remove the vinyl top but Hemmings magazine has a Cadillac resto section where you can order the fender extension pieces. The new pieces are made of fiberglass instead of the plastic so they will hold their shape longer and not crack over time. You would have to have them painted to match your car. I think they come in black or gray. Mine on my 77 were replaced before I bought the car.
