: Combo electrical/fuel problem in race car

The saga continues:

Our car has power to the starter, and spark. We are not getting any fuel pressure. Although we have not completely ruled out a blown fuel pump or flogged filter, the issue appears to be caused by no power to the fuel pump. The left side of the dash (DIC /Driver Information Center) is also dead, so we cannot pull any engine codes.

1. Since we are not going to use the car on the street, is it possible to jump over the existing wiring (which is a mess) and just power the fuel pump directly?
2. How likely is it that the root-cause of issue with the Driver Information Center is also causing the problem with the fuel pump, and if we hot-wire the fuel pump, what else is likely to stay broken?
