: Rubber air dam frint bumper

I switched from a truck to a CTS-V and in the beginning I was having some height perception issues. The rubber air dam has been slowly falling off to the point where i removed it last night. I see it's only $100 to replace so it's no big deal but what purpose does it serve?

2007 V, doesn't that mean you're still kind of driving a truck? :rimshot:

The air dam helps aero by reducing the amount of air the flows under the car (to reduce lift and drag), and also improves cooling system efficiency by helping to create a low pressure area behind the radiator.

Is it 100.00 just for the air dam or is that for the dealer to install as well? I need one of these for my car as well...

I finally ripped mine off this week after constantly reinserting the tabs into the broken plastic brackets.

From scratch with new pins it would be real easy to install one. Taking off the old one can be tough because those factory pins are real hard to disassemble.

I had just gotten my V last fall and I noticed one end of the air dam hanging down too low. I looked under it and found that it had been split and wire-tied back together. I took it completely off then I went back to the dealer and made them install a new one.
