I was thinking of buying a 92 seville sts from a guy I work with for $1300
While I was test driving it it would make a knocking noise when going over bumps. If this problem is related to shocks or struts, will you get a message on the computer? The reason I ask is because from reading through the forums people seem to have to pay big $$$ to try to replace the shocks and struts. I just don't know if it's worth it for a 1300 dollar car. I know none of you can make an honest opinion without hearing the car, but have any of you found knocking under the car not to be shocks and struts and something simpler? Also is there a good place or not a good place to get his kind of thing looked at? Is the car to complex for a kid at the midas place?

Look at the sway bar links and bushings. Thats a common cause. The dash should display Service Suspension if a code was set. But regardless, odds are they have been replaced by now, given that it is a 92.
