My rear driver's side door handle broke. Does anyone know how to remove the door panel to gain access to the door handle?

Thanks in advance.

I would not bother trying. You have to take the whole door panel off. My dealer did both rear handles for $110 in labor with a tuneup purchase. I got the door handles myself from a dealer who closed down a while back.

It's really no big deal. I've had to change two of mine so far. Took about 30 minutes each.

What is the best way to pull apart the interior panel without damaging the tabs?

First you have to find all the screws hidden under the plastic tabs. Then remove the handle. (more screws under plastic tabs) Then slowly pry out from the bottom and the tabs will pop. When the bottom and sides are loose then you lift it off and disconnect the wiring.

First off where do you find a door handle. i have been looking at ebay and they dont have any with the keyhole on the driver side. both handles on the front are broken. i hope cadillac can replace them with metal hadles aluminum will look nice. i would not mind paying extra as long as i know that my belongings will be safe. any idea on how much it will cost at a dealer. and how much for the instal

thanks

Not sure about how much the dealer will charge you for labor, but I buy mine at the gmc dealer (cheaper than caddy dealer) for $46.50 each. BTW, another one of mine broke today. I sure hope the new ones last longer. So far none of the ones I have replaced have broken.

I bought mine from this website:

I don't know about the quality, though. It should not be worse than GM original.
