I have a 2006 with 48k on it I recently bought it so I am unsure of previous drivers driving habits hard or soft.

Should I do a complete trans flush ? I want to so I don't have to worry about it but scared new trans fluid will cause problems

Has any one changed trans fluid in there v with no issues ?

i just changed mine last weekend with amsoil fluid, a new filter, and amsoil flush. Be aware you need a shop that has a flushing machine to do it, and they will need an STS specific attachment to do it. The gasket around the trans pan is reusable.

Thats for the reply just curious how many miles do you have on your v and what year is it when you flushed the trans fluid ?

Also did you notice any difference ?

I'm a big believer in early fluid changes for both the tranny and the diff. Though not an STS-V, here are the fluid samples I submitted in my 06 CTS-V tranny and diff showing the stock tranny fluid had sheared low out of grade in only about 10k miles and the diff was showing excessive wear:
2006 Cadillac CTS-V Used Oil Analysis Factory Fill Differential Fluid (http://www.c66racing-synthetics.com/TestResults/CTS-V%20Differential%20UOA.htm)
2006 Cadillac CTS-V Used Oil Analysis Dexron III vs AMSOIL ATF Transmission Fluid (http://www.c66racing-synthetics.com/TestResults/CTS-V%20Transmission%20UOA.htm)

FYI, this is the fluid AMSOIL recommends for your tranny (not the same ATF that mine took):
AMSOIL Low Viscosity Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATL) (http://www.c66racing-synthetics.com/Product%20Bulletins/ATLPB.htm) (Product Code ATLQT)

I swapped all fluids - oil, trans, coolant, diff.

I have 50k miles, and I thought I needed a new transmisison it was shifting so hard. I did the AMSOil flush, trans filter replacement, and amsoil fluid. Now my trans feels like brand new. Glad i took a chance with a flush before I dropped $1500 on a new trans install!
