: Why are XLR-V's holding value better than STS-V?

The wife was toying with getting a XLR-V so I started l to look around. 07's are just under $60,k. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That's twice what a 07 STS-V is worth. Same exact drive train and interior.

Something is wrong here, a new CTS-V Coupe starts at $62,000.

Sorry XLR-V guys your used 07 is not worth $57,000

Come to think of it, GM detuned the XLR-V. We make more power from the factory. Go figure.

It is a 2 seater convertible.

They seem to hold value better.

Classier than a vette, cheaper than an SL.. Plus only Auto, perfect for the white-hairs as a fun car :D

The STS-V is just too powerful to justify for the normal full sized Cadillac buyers.. and the young people/YUPies would pick an M5 or AMG.. I am very glad I came across the STS-V when I did, I was about to buy an M5 with twice the miles for $5k more. This car got so little attention, its rare for a random person to know how amazing they are.. Everyone knows "that cadillac corvette".

They also cost more than an STS-V and less were produced. Not sure I would calll a 100,000 car priced at 57,000 three years later as holding its value. :noidea:

produced less but if you are comparing full sticker to full sticker the STS-V was $80,000

I was getting new tires last week for my STS V and and saw a 2008 xlr v with 20k miles (CPO) for less than $60K on the show room floor. You can find it on cars.com located in Tampa, Florida.

Price is based on supply and demand. Not many people know about or have experienced the Cadillac premium performance division cars due to the low volume. I have a friend who drives a BMW M6 who had no idea Cadillac had a performance division with cars with the horse power and torque of the STS V (I purchased my car before the of the new CTS V). The million dollar question is now that Cadillac is starting to marketing the V brand (I see numerous CTS V ads on TV) if the demand and prices will go up as car buyers become more aware of the brand?
