I was planning on replacing all my chrome stuff with gold stuff. Gold emblems, grille, you know all of it. I'm just wondering what you guys think of this, the bottom of my Deville is chrome and right above it is some chrome trim. Do you think I should keep this chrome or get some gold trim for it? Of course underneath would still be chrome so I don't know how it would look. What's your opinion on it?

What color car? IMO, gold trim (even the gold pkg) just dont look as nice on light colored cars as dark colored ones.

Ah, yes I forgot about my exhaust tip. It's also silver. The car is dark blue.

I have a black 2000 dts with gold plating.I am replacing it with chrome.I think the gold tone makes the car look cheap.

Several things about gold> We have had several pieces for bikes and other things 24k gold plated and although they always come out really killer looking, the gold is extremely soft. It eventually wears away unless clear coated or otherwise protected from the elements and, including cleaning. Brass plating is almost as nice and a lot more durable. Go talk to your local plater and he could probably show you examples of each. Here in Houston, we have Speed and Sport plating who do a lot of work for people around the country. They have done all our plating so far and always do a nice job, but no matter who does it, it's expensive and it does wear!
