Just bought a 07ext why is it that when I use the remote to unlock the doors the driver seat goes all the way forward?

Likely because that key/remote is programmed for that seat position...you need to reset it with your settings...check your manual for specifics/how to...

Thanks for the help but I can't find it in the book.

You should be able to save your desired seat position in either memory 1 or 2, and the corresponding key would automatically sync. That's how I do it. My key is #1 and my wife is #2. When I want to adjust mine, I just get the seat right, then hold the Memory 1 button until it beeps twice.

Good luck!

More than likely that is how the previous owner had it set. Each Key fob will have it's own memory setting. Get in, start the truck up, adjust the seat where you want it, then push and hold the #1 button on the drivers door til you here it beep. This should take care of it, do the same to set the second fob for your wife.

In your owners manual the information can be found on page 12.
1. Adjust the driver’s seat, including the seatback
recliner and lumbar, both outside mirrors, and
the throttle and brake pedals to a comfortable
position.
2. Press and hold button 1 until two beeps let
you know that the position has been stored.
A second seating, mirror, and throttle and brake
pedal position can be programmed by repeating
the above steps and pressing button 2.
To recall the memory positions, the vehicle must be
in PARK (P). Press and release either button 1 or
button 2 corresponding to the desired driving
position. The seat, outside mirrors, and adjustable
throttle and brake pedals will move to the position
previously stored. You will hear a single beep.

I hope this helps you!

Also I believe in the DIC you can select whether or not you want the seat to slide all the way back for easy exit when you turn the engine off. Deselecting this option will leave the seat in the last position it was in .
