I have read numerous posts about people having problems with their SRX's and a lot of them are the same problems.
Cruise control...........
Power steering ........
Trip computer .........
Radio ...........
Body panel alignment .........
Etc. etc.......
My car was manufactured in March of 2004 and after 7,000 miles I have not had a single problem. (Knock on wood!) The mpg on the computer is exact, the body panels are perfect, etc........ Just lucky I guess.
I was wondering what the manufacturing dates your cars were made and what problems you have had. Maybe there's a connection.
:hmm:
Are you saying both front fenders line up perfectly with the hood? If so, yours is the first one I know of that is aligned. If that is so, how are the gaps between the front of the front doors and the back of the front fenders. If they are the same then save your car for a museum piece.
Can you set your cruise control on an initial speed then accelerate and lock onto a new speed without turning your cruise control off and reseting it?

As far as the alignment of all the body panels, they are perfect.
I'm not positive about the cruise control question you asked. I will try it today and get back to you. I used the cruise extensively on a trip from Chicago to Mankato Minnesota and I didn't recognize any problems with it. Maybe I just didn't notice it.
My Mfr date is April 24/04.
My only issues seem to be noise in passenger door, creeking sunroof and trip odometer resetting randomly. Everything else works great, alignment of fenders & doors looks fine also!
A friend has an early production model and has had a sh....load of problems!
After much research, it seems that models produced after Mar'04 have fewer, if any problems. There were a ton on TSB's in Jan'04. Perhaps most of the problems were ironed out after this.....let's hope!!!!

I finally looked at the hood and fender gaps on our SRX. The hood has the same gaps on both sides as do both fenders to the front doors. The only issue I noticed was the front corners of the hood sit lower than the fenders.
This SRX has the best panel fit of any GM car, especially a first year car, that I have seen

I checked my cruise and it works like you say. I can't set it, speed up and reset it without either tapping the brake or turning the cruise off and on again. To tell you the truth, it doesn't bother me. I usually use the acceleration button on the cruise.
My car is in for the recall and an oil change today and I have an Escalade for a loaner and the cruise operates the same way. (Cannot speed up and reset without turning off and back on)
Like I said, it doesn't bother me at all.
Another question, is it as sloppy as the SRX one. By that does it go into a lag and then accelerate far too rapidly when you use the accelerate switch?

I,m leaving the office now and I will check it out on the way home.
