: Had some metal rods come flying at me on highway today...

:( :crybaby:

Car in front of me ran over 3 metal rods. Tried to dodge and avoided 1, but got hit by 2 of them. Scratched up the front bumper, one of the rods blew a hole in my side mirror, and then left some scratches on my door. Can't really see the scratches in the pics...

Wow! Your lucky they didn't come through the windshield!

Shit, sorry to see that dude. At least you're OK though and none came through the windshield like 154 said. Still, must be a real piss off.

^^^ Yeah what they said.

Glad you're okay, Jon.

Thanks guys... Yeah, me too. The one that hit my mirror was originally going for the windshield, but I dodged to the right. Who knows where it woulda wound up.

The ironic thing is, I usually speed quite a bit, and as a result, no one is ever in front of me... I decide to take it easy today and WHAMO!

Damn, this is the type of thing I always worried about when I used to ride crotch rockets.

And I was worried about the rubber coming from the exploded truck tire on the highway yesterday. Damn sorry to hear, atleast its not that bad and you are ok.

Good driving!

On a bike that one through the mirror would have been through the face shield.

You should contact your local DOT to pay for the repairs, cause they're supposed to keep those roads safe and clean.

that mirror-hit is really scary.

a friend of mine had a ladder come off the truck in front of him once. he says he saw it hit the pavement and bounce up, aimed at his windshield. he just closed his eyes, and when he opened them it had cleared over the roof of the car completely. scary times.

Glad to see you, and the V, are mostly OK. If you ever feel bad, just look at pics of my V. :suspense:

I remember when I was 19 and in my '88 Corsica and was in the fast lane of I-95. 2 cars in front of me an area rug for large building entrances was lifted up in the air. It was about 8'x6' and floated right over the car in front of me and landed on my hood and windshield. I almost was the inspiration for the great hood flap scene in Tommy Boy...

I did get over to the breakdown lane and the rug lifted up and off.
