Hi there. As you would probably figure, I'm looking for moderators. If you have knowledge in a specific area where we've got a forum, please let me know by replying here or by sending me a private message.

Thank you

Sal, can you please post a short description of what is required of a moderator, what the duties of a moderator might be, and what amount of time might be required to perform these duties?

Thank you for your interest! I hope you'll become an big part of the development of cadillacforums.com.. A moderator would be responsible for the following:

Keep topics fresh
Start new topics
Move topics that relate to another forum INTO the correct forum
Close topics that could potentially cause problems

How's that sound?

How many hours would a Mod need to be on here? Does a Mod have to have extensive knowledge on the forum he is a mod?

I would like to have a moderator for every forum. Jadcock made some great forum suggestions on the GM board and I'd like to get something going with that.. Otherwise.. We'll need moderators, super moderators and administrators.. This board is going to be run by the people...

Well I'd like to help you on the Fleetwood Forum at least until you find a more qualified person to run it . I'm am going to be learning about Fleetwoods as I work on my car.

Okay. I'll give you all the details tonight.. There can be several moderators per forum - so don't worry. You can get help later on. When a more qualified person comes along, he'll be your partner.. No biggie.. Of course, eventually, I'd like to have very qualified people running this place - but, it looks to me like you're on your way to being very qualified. :)

I'll try not to let the power corrupt me. Going to be hard though seeing how I got a Caddy and even the Prez rolls in a Caddy.
Muahahahahahaha. But seriously thank you Sal. Hey you should have a evil smiley on here too. Can't have smilies without evil :)

New smilies are coming soon. :D I'm leaving you a Private Message in regards to the moderator stuff.. Click on the "user cp" button up top...

Edit: Oh. You seem to have that feature turned off.. Okay. No biggie.. As you've probably already noticed, I've switched up the forums.. Would you have any problem with moderating the DeVille / Fleetwood / Brougham section?

Got the PM now. Thanks for the info :) That will make it easier for me. But the only prob I got is that I see the options on the PM but not in the forums. Do I have to log out then log back in to see them in the forums?

Hi Sal,

I am like Mad'lac in that I am by no means an Allante expert, but I would be willing to help you get this up and running. Moderator or co-moderator would be fine. I am green about this stuff so you might have to teach me some stuff. PM or email me if you want to talk about it.

If you are still in search of mods or administrators I can help out. I have been using discussion boards for quite some time and even modified code on many of them adding features and such. I usually put in 40-60 hrs on the net a week because I run an ISP so stopping in periodically during the day and nights to clean house isn't a problem.

Hi Scott.. I missed this message.. We seem to be doing pretty good right now - but if you see a spot that needs more attention - let me know.. There have been a few requests so I'll need to take it one step at a time..

Thank you for the offer! I could always use a good code-familiar person on the team. :)
