I installed my new red UUC brake lines today and when I went to bleed the left rear outside bleeder, I noticed a lot of rust under the rubber cap. I broke the bleeder loose but it didn't feel right. I tried working back and forth just a little at a time and finally it came out but not before pulling every thread out of the caliper with it. The entire bleeder is completely corroded. I may end drilling and tapping the hole with a blind hole tap (so I dont mess up the seat) and try to heli-coil it. Should work I guess. Just want to have a line on one just in case.
Any other ideas?

Well I ended up buying a caliper off gmpartsdirect.com last night. Only 99 buck plus shipping. Not as bad as I thought they would be.

LOL, a new brake caliper is only $99 ???

Yeah it said w/ctsv $99. The base CTS was actually more. I hope I get the right part lol

Yeah everything I have looked up so far says they listed the right part number. You can actually pick it up elsewhere online for 102 with free shipping.

not a bad outcome for 100$ + gmparts ridiculous shipping charges... since this thread is on its way out..you should use it to update us on your car, any new mods? i thought you were selling it a few months ago

I can't sell it because it keeps breaking lol I broke the countershaft in the trans and then when the guy was putting it back together he noticed the input shaft was bent. He also broke te speedo gear so he had to order that. Other than the Exedy clutch, not much else going on right now. I'm trying to get a better job makig a lot more money. If that happens, you can count on a 3.3 whipple install thread and a whole new rear end!!!

Well looks like the caliper is on national backorder. I guess I have to helicoil it now.

Exact same thing happened to me, did helicoiling work for you?

I actually got ahold of Luke from Lindsey Cadillac and he found me one some how. I've never tried to fix mine.
