Does anyone know specifically which models of the BLUETOOTH VCIM work with the escalade? I see so many different part numbers on ebay, but I am hesitant to purchase because I am not sure if that specific VCIM will work with my car...

Thanks

VCIM (25990227) out of a 2009 CTS (and maybe ealier) will work too if you don't care about Onstar and are willing to cut the mounting ears off.

I tried a vcim out of a 2008 CTS with Bluetooth and it doesn't work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

cadmanchris, What was the part number of the VCIM you put in? I had to say ONSTAR first wait until it was ready then say BLUETOOTH to get into the pairing mode.

Just an FYI, you all have been very helpful. I have a 2008 Escalade and really wanted bluetooth and front DVD while driving.
I bought an Onstar bluetooth VCIM from Ebay and a Coastal GM Lockpik. They both are working thanks to you guys here. Thanks for everything.

Todd,

I have an '08 and have been thinking of upgrading my VCIM as well. Did OnStar continue to work after your upgrade? Any info would be great! Thanks.

Yes you will lose Onstar. But if your deadset on Onstar they now have Magic Mirror and you can continue to buy their overpriced services.

I'm sorry, I got a lil lost in this thread. I have a 08 Escalade and I'm looking to install a Bluetooth module in my factor radio. Could someone pls provide part numbers and the best site to purchase it. Also will I lose my OnStar subscription?

Watering, I forgot to mention, I did what you said with my CTS VCIM and it works perfectly.

Hey Gang, I recently upgraded my vcim to a newer LG model (don't have the p/n handy) but am not having success getting into pair mode. When I press the 'handsfree' button my nav never beeps, but I can tell that it is waiting for my command. When I say 'Onstar' it says 'Onstar Call' and that's it. If I try and say 'Bluetooth' or 'phone' or any other command mentioned in this thread it tells me the command is not recognized. I even just upgraded my nav disc to the latest (ver 10.3) and still no luck. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help to get this working

Will this work in a 07 escalade?

Eric I just installed that exact VCIM in my 07 ESV and yes I got Bluetooth no problem. I haven't gotten

----------

Sorry - my post sent before I was ready. Our cadillac dealer installed it last week but we ended up with an extra plug during the install that ran from the car that didn't have a slot in the module. Tech said it was probably the OnStar GPS wire. Dealer programmed the new VCIM to our VIN but we don't have working OnStar. No biggie as we really only wanted Bluetooth in the first place.

Thanks again.

I was kinda worried maybe it was for the gps antenna and I was worried the nav would not work.

It works great. I even followed the I instructions here on the forum and was able to get the 2012 Nav CD for free.

So which one is the model number for a 2008? And does the dealership have to program it?
