Every SRX I've seen has either the third row seat or the cargo management system - I'm wondering if without either of these options is there 4-5" more vertical space in the back?

If you have an SRX without either option, can you post a picture of your cargo area please?

Is the rear cargo area in your car recessed or flush with the rear hatch bottom (sill)?

My SRX has the 3rd row the floor is flush with the rear hatch sill and I've seen the car with the storage and the floor is flush with the rear hatch sill also if I remember correctly.

Check out this link. (pictures 7, 8 & 9)This is what the floor with the storage looks like. The one for the 3rd row just has two flaps but they are both flush at the bottom where the hatch latches.

Thanks JohnZ, but I have the third row seat, and every other SRX I've looked at either has the third row seat OR the cargo management option. What I'm trying to figure out is what the car looks like with NEITHER option.

If you do not get the 3rd row seat OPTION, then you get the STANDARD cargo bin set-up.

Am I not correct? Possibly I am wrong, as I ordered mine, and started with the 1SD package. (Ordered 3/04)

The first one I ever saw at a dealer had neither, but I now assume that the dealer did not have the cargo system in for some reason. It dropped off about 4 inches or so at the sill and also a step up to the top of the seat back folded down. The floor was carpeted though. I remember thinking it was odd that the floor was not flat in a high end car. :hmm:

I thought the base cars came without it.

Maybe I need to call my dealer and see where they are?

Your correct b4z the base car does not include the cargo storage (per the literature).

V6 SRX's with the luxury package or all V8 models come with the storage system unless you get the 3rd row seat. Like RCAWOOD says, the V6 base cars do not come with the storage system...
