My diff has been whining for about 2 weeks or so and just got really loud on the day of occurrence. So driving home from work in the wet, and i go over a bridge as soon as my back tires come over the hump at the bridge stability and trac light go on had no power to the rear wheels and im sliding all over the road doing about 35. i get sideways and run into the wall with my drivers side headlight bounce to nail the rear and slide down the wall. So far its been estimated with about $9k without putting it on a lift. If it gets to about $13k They will prob total it, and if hey do i probably (more like definitely) will not be getting another V. Pics to be posted soon as i figure out how to do it on photobucket (suggestion)

I assume you already have them uploaded to Photobucket. When viewing the thumbnails (small pictures) roll your cursor over the thumbnail of the photo you want in your post. A window will open below the picture, put your cursor in the last box titled "IMG Code" and click to highlight it. Copy it to your clipboard, I hold the "Ctrl" key down and press the "C" key to copy it. Get the cursor (in your post) where you want the photo to be then hold the "Ctrl" key down and press the "V" key to insert the thing you just copied. You can select "Preview Post" to see how it looks, or just post it.

Definitely sounds like the rear locked up. Glad you didn't hit the wall much faster and that you're ok.

Thanks for all the well wishers and yeah the fluid leaked out and it just froze up on me. And luckily if i had gone another 200 feet i wouldve been on the interstate.

I wouldnt call it totaled either, depends on your milage and etc.

Did you bang a gear or something, or were you just cruising along and the wheels just locked up?

also what year V is it and what gen diff?

idk about totaled but it could be a lot worse if you have to replace the suspension and if the frame is bent at all, then its a goner

Glad you came out of that OK!

The V looks better than I imagined. If the frame is straight, put her back on the road. Even if they total it, you might consider it
Still makes me sad... and am so sure you too!

if you think a v is work around something like 17k to an insurance company, its possible that he has 5k damage at least.the headlight alone is fairly expensive.

i hope it all works out for you.

This is true. I'm pretty sure the driver's side headlight is 1200 or something while the passenger side is 1000. Pretty brutal.
