Has anyone added coolant to the intercooler? If yes, what type coolant do you recommend and how do you know when and how much to add?

Is the intercooler not just hooked up to the reservoir?

I am not sure if the engine and intercooler coolant systems are connected, I see two coolant caps when I open the hood. My add coolant light came on yesterday and when I added the coolant I noticed the other intercooler cap. I am new to the performance car world previously my vehicles were a ford expedition and chrysler minivan. Kids are old enough now that don't need all the room. I was surprised the coolant light came on since I got my oil changed at the dealer two months ago and figured the dealer would top off all fluids.

The engine and the intercooler do not share systems. They are totally seperate systems. The intercooler reservoir is on the passenger side. I also added Redline Water Wetter to mine to help with heat. I am changing my Intercooler radiator to a bigger one with a fan and a spare coolant tank for more capacity.
