I am looking to replace just the chrome piece on my 09 escalade passenger side mirror... does anyone know how I can disassemble it to replace it with the new piece?

the upper panel is held by clips.

Can you buy just the chrome somewhere ? I see the covers that completely cover the mirror , I would prefer just the strip my gal left at the bank on their drive through wall.

great question I need to do the same on mine except for the driver's side chrome. Did you already order the part if so part number and cost? Did you get it at the dealer? Keep us posted on how hard it is to replace. I was thinking I might have to order the whole mirror just for that chrome piece but it looks like I don't have to now.
Thanks

The cadillac dealer will only sell you the full mirror... I think it was somewhere around $400 plus they would have to paint to match, so I went out on ebay and bought a full used mirror for $100 and was just going to take the chrome piece off of it... now I just need to figure our to to get it apart...

the link from alldata bec of the pic changes each time. anyway, there are 3-4 clip that you access from the top of the mirror cover and it should remove the black piece exposing the lower part. will get a better pic, this new macbook pro is just not user friendly to me:(

LOL. Reminds me of when I took my parents out to dinner. I parked on the street and we walked across the street to eat. I came out, got in, started the truck up, and went to look into the driver's side mirror to check for traffic, and then noticed the mirror smashed up and hanging on by a wire.
Bill was $850 painted and installed at the dealer, minus the $500 deductible, cost me $350 plus the dinner.
