I have a 97 catera-auto but it drives like a dog (even when it is running in perfect condition! LOL) Slow off the line it seems. I realize that it will not run like my old vehicle. (91 Nissan Maxima-standard modified everything!) Did not win any car shows but got a lot of compliments.
What are some enhancements I can start with on the catera. I do not do the work, I just drive the beautiful work. :)
Thanks for any input!

Well... the way they did the Catera is, they took the Opel Omega MV6, added loads of sound dampening material, redid most of the suspension with heavier stronger parts to get it to ride the way Cadillac wanted, and the last thing is they went over the interior with gauge changes, and center console change.
Im going to guess most of the dampen material is between the firewall in the front, in the doors, around the doors, the floor pans, wheel wells, trunk, and transmission area. Most of the underside of the car is coated with a thin rubber to not only keep corrosion down but to also act to kill sound-but that shouldnt add that much weight to be concerned.
Do what you can... it will require taking a lot of things apart. If there were custom-lighter suspension parts, that would greatly cut the weight, as well as less dampening material. The Catera would get 0-60 times around 7 seconds if it retained original weight from the Euro spec car.
