After 6 great years, my 2004 CTS-V has been sold to a happy new owner; I'm not sure if he is on the forum, or not. The 2010 V was delivered on Tuesday. I can only hope that I have as much fun with the 2010 as I had with the 2004.

Though I don't have enough miles on the 2010 yet to have any meaningful insights, I can tell you that the 2004 seems like an economy car compared to the 2010. The 6.2 seems like one thirsty mutha. And, even though there are a lot of differences between the two cars, there are also a lot of similarities and the 2004 (and thus 2005-2007's, too) are great cars and now great values.

I'll be (and have been) over at the 2009+ forum, but I'll be stopping back here now and again.

Cheers

We know that (dust)...but how about a objective comparison?

Ah geeze Jim... I've heard you make some favorable comparisons of the V1 holding its own in regards to the V2... even liking a few things better. Come on now, don't be so cadi ;)

(get it... cadi... sometimes I crack myself up ;) :D )

That is a fair request but with only about 110 miles (had the clear bra put on yesterday, and have been otherwise busy), I'm not in much of a position to say much about it. Also, this car call for more careful break in (no revving about 4K, no full throttle, etc, for 1500 miles) and I intend to follow those instructions.

But so far my impressions are similar to Jims. the V2 is awesome, the shifter is better than the V1 (yes, better), but the car is quite refined such that at low speeds, it doesn't feel like quite the animal that the LS6/V1 feels like. Then again my V1 had Corsa exhaust which adds to the overall impression of power...the V2 is too quiet. Thinking of adding corsas to the V2....but I am not anxious about taking a hacksaw or a pipecuttter to brand new pipes.

Of course when you do hit the gas pedal...holy carp. I can't wait to run through the gears under full throttle.

Steering wheel feels smaller, and like a sports car steering wheel should be like.

Quality seems top notch.....recaros are good but I also like the V1 seats.

More to come after I have some miles on........

Yes, my heart still prefers the V1. But the heads and speedometer spins with the V2.

Looking forward to a full review after a few more miles on the V2. Good luck with it
