Aloha,

I need some info and opinions on these particular intakes before I make my final decision. I know I may have posted a similar tread before but I did not get some of my questions answered enough.

Can someone please measure the the diameter of the piping used on the AEM Brute force Intake and also the piping used on the VOLANT? Should I also get a POWERAID spacer with my intake system?

I may go with the CORSA exhaust but looking for the dual tailpipe look maybe BORLA. Any suggestions, opinions?

The spacer is not going to do anything for you. I have Corsa exhaust for a few reasons, first the price was right (thanks Corsa) it's licensed by GM so there will be no problems down the road, and I have had Corsa on my last two Corvettes and the fit and finish was very good, although the dual exhaust looks killer, but I have had too many problems with Borla and interior noise so I was not going that route again. I will measure the diameter when I go out later this morning.

My AEM intake should be here today (if UPS tracking is correct), I'll be able to get a measurement tonight and post up tomorrow.

THANKS for the info...I will wait for your measurement. What is your opinions on the CORSA Sport versus the Touring? (I read you had installed both before)

THANKS Walter. The measurement would really help. Where did you order it from? Price? Any pics (Before and After install)?

i don't have the corsa exhaust, but i've looked at them both and i was told the sport was much louder and was too loud in the truck, but the touring was perfect, loud on acceleration and quiet while cruising. i was told this by a number of people.

AEM is installed. Took about 30 minutes. Measurements are as follows:

filter (cone)
4" at top
6" at base
9" long

The kit comes with a plastic velocity stack that reduces it from 6" to 4" into the MAF.

The actual intake tube is 4" on both ends.

I ordered the polished finish. Overall I am very happy with the fit, finish, and quality of the kit. Immediate improvement in low and mid range throttle response. Under normal driving, the noise is very minimal, almost stock. Once you put your foot into it, very deep and throaty throughout the entire powerband.

I paid $260.94 shipped to my door from www.prostreetonline.com. That was the lowest price I could find.

Didn't take any pics, didn't want to waste anytime getting it installed :D I'll try and get a few pics of the "after".

Regards

Walter

Walter,

Those are the exact numbers and information I was looking for. Thank you very much. I have been leaning towards the AEM but still want more info on the VOLANT to make my final decision. (Waiting on the VOLANT owners responses)
There is going have a Car And Truck show this weekend and a couple of vendors maybe selling both items at great prices.
Thanks again for the info.

I put an AEM cold air intake on my Prelude for a few years. It really made a difference for a 4-cyl. car. I can only dream of what it would do for an Escalade.

I was pleased with the quality of the pipe. It had a mounting bracket welded onto it, and the workmanship was good. The K&N cone filter on the end was high-quality too. Cleaning it only took about 30 minutes.

I totally forgot about this, the Volant is 4" diameter tubing, it is the same looking black plastic as the stock system, and the box fits in the same place and also looks stock, it makes less drown sound than the K&N FIPK.
