I'm interested if anyone else has gold emblems on their Lade, if so were they factory installed? Also if anyone else has had problems with the metal flake inside their emblem cracking up and looking like S**t?

The emblem on my rear hatch looks like water has gotten into it, and it is beginning to crack and fade. Would a "defective" emblem be covered under warranty? If not should I replace it with a newbie from the dealer or order off the net?

Any input is helpful. I'll try and post a pic. Thanks!!!

Here's some pics. You can see the silver flake is gone in the lower left and there is a big water stain in the middle of the emblem. :banghead:

I would take it back to the dealer that should be under warranty.

Mine is stock silver, and looks like yours :( I will get the dealer to replace it if and when I need warranty work.

yeah.....i'd take it back. that should be covered.

i had the same problem. the spots are caused by the plating fliud seeping into the emblem and causing a stain. uv rays react with the fluid and cause a mark. take it back to the dealer, it is covered under warranty.

I got that problem with the ESCALADE emblem on the side door. They replaced mine.

Mine is stock silver, and looks like yours :( I will get the dealer to replace it if and when I need warranty work.

My stock silver grill emblem is doing the same, just noticed it today while washing, I'll get that replaced when I go in for an oil change next week
