I have a 1977 cadillac sedan deville with a V8 425 and for some reason the generator light flashes on and off while I am driving the car and it flashes faster when I step on the gas pedal. now I checked and rechecked the wires on the back of the generator and checked the fuses but still nothin please help.

It's probably ready to croak.

yeah, it may be time for a new alternator. my '68 had a similar problem. it would run if you kept on the gas but would try to die if you let it idle. and if it did die you had to jump start it. the generator light was on the whole time. swap it.

I got it the altinator that I had was from autozone and was a cheap rebuild supposed to run at 63 amps but didn't replaced it with a high definition altinator that runs at 80 amps the same one that came if you got the trailer package and it works realy well everything is brighter picked it up from advanced auto parts and its brand new and has a lifetime warrenty total of $65. some papers it came with said at 6000 rpms it puts out 108 amps
