Hello all! I've been referring to this forum ever since I bought my first Cadillac ( a '88 Brougham ) for repair tips and just general info. After I sold the '88 I bought a not too shabby '79 Sedan DeVille with 88k miles and since I love this forum, finally joined.
I'm still learning about these ol' land yachts so don't get mad if I'm asking stupid questions lol - I'll try not to be annoying

Thankyou! I'm still trying to figure out how to upload pics.. right now I have a few in my profile. Looks like I gotta upload 'em on another website first and then insert them into posts?

She's a beauty! Got any interior and engine shots?

Not yet, will get some once I have time to clean the interior, maybe some before & after shots.. this car's been sitting for a while in an old guy's carport. Cobwebs, leaves, dust and dirt.. cleaned most of it but there's some stains in the carpet that I'd like to remove Lol.
I've had the Deville for about a month now but it's been in and out of the shop with mechanical issues ( replaced radiator, hoses, belts, tune up, oil change, lights, rebuilt carb..) and now has a leaking power steering pump and freeze plug..oh & all the bushings in the front end are rotted.. :violin:
.....But THEN she shall be -sorta- done!

Just one more - I saw a Bel Air in the parking lot at work and thought it'd make a cool pic.

My Deville spent the summers of 2007 and 2008 in and out of repair shops getting all kind of major components fixed due to age and wear. Now that most of the items are done, I have one of the most solid vehicles you'll ever find for 200,000 miles on the odometer, Your Deville is probably going to be the same way for a while, but once you have it fixed, it should run entirely too well for its age.

Have you named her yet?

I've always loved the 77-79 DeVilles. Much more manageable in size, but still with all the classic Cadillac styling cues and a genuine big-block Cadillac engine. Just for fun, I test drove a '78 Sedan de Ville d'Elegance last year, and I was quite impressed by how nicely it drove, other than the pinkie-twirling steering. Like the shot with the '63 Bel Air. I also love early 60s Chevys (as you can see from my signature, I also own a '64 Impala four-door hardtop).
