Hi to all
Really need some advice.
Have a 99 Deville just completed head gasket repair.
Car fired right up but now I have no oil pressure took filter off and its still dry on the inside.
Any ideas I didnt even mess with the oil pump?
Please any help would be greatfully appreciated
The car only has 120k and showed no signs of low oil pressure be for the head gasket problem.

Oil pump has lost its prime. (BTW, is there oil in the crankcase...........)
You have now run the engine with dry bearings and cylinder walls - next time, prime the engine first ! Two ways to recover from this........
First way: Make up a pressure rig which can pump fresh engine oil into the engine through the oil pressure sender port at the top of the oil filter adapter. Fill the oil filter to the top, install it, remove the sender and pressure prime the engine. Replace the sender, start the engine and let it idle while you observe the oil pressure warning icon.
Second way: (cross your fingers): Fill the filter to the top and screw it back on. Overfill the crankcase by 6 quarts of the recommended oil: first ensure that the oil level is in the middle of the hashmark on the dipstick with the car level. Now pour in 6 extra quarts. Start the engine (DO NOT rev it past the initial fast idle) and the extra oil should prime the pump, the oil pressure light should go off. Idle the engine for two minutes like this - DO NOT rev it ! Shut down and drain off the extra oil. Bring the dipstick to halfway up the hashmark, no more.

Problem solve balancer wasn't at correct torque, re torqued and oil pressure came right up.
Engine ran less then a minute without oil press this is still not good but could have been a lot worse.
