Looking at the 2004 SRX's that remain and trying to get a good lease out of it. Eligible for GM Family first pricing. Any suggestions?

Is it worth it to try and bargain on the 2004? Seen issues here about dashboard paint peeling, water leaks. Would that be fixed on the 2005s?

Just looking for some thoughts. Thanks.

Brian,

If you want a terrific PUV (Performance Utility Vehicle) go for it!

The only differences on the '05 are very minor and insignificant.

I have had NO problems with my '04 in any way, shape, or form!

If you can get an '04 cheaper than an '05, then go for it.

Same here, over 7,500 miles and not a problem at all.

This is a great vehicle for the price.

Remember that what you see here is a forum where people come when they have problems.

For instance the Cayenne/Touraeg has many more problems. The SRX is similar to the X5 and M. The RX is on average of better initial quality if you look at the industry (JD Powers) numbers. The larger sample will give you a more representative idea of how your vehicle will fare.

For me, I can not and will not keep giving my money away to foreign countries who treat us like idiots. And Americans who buy overpriced foreign cars are supporting values that we reject, and are ignorant of the structures they are promoting by giving their money away.

That's exactly what I did for mine. GM Family First and a lease. Money factor is 0.00206 which is 4.95 %. Residual is padded by GM (still 58% for 12K) and dealer can use the "hidden" factory to dealer incentives. On '05s employee purchase deals can't. Dealer gave me an extra 2K on my Lexus trade because I went for an '04. That money came from somewhere. Leased for 36 mos. 525 plus tax NO MONEY DOWN.

I just leased an '04 with the GM Supplier's discount and lease incentives. If I had chosen a vehicle without the Ultraview there would have been an additional $1500 in incentives, plus what the Ultraview would have cost. One thing that steered me to an 04 was that they have reshuffeled the 1SB package for '05 by removing several key options.

One thing I would watch out for with an '04 is to make sure that you don't get a really early production vehicle. Several SRX's at the dealer where I was shopping had an '03 production date.

Thanks for the info. Where are you at? The lease with no money down is a little bit higher here in the chicagoland area. How long ago did you buy?
