One friend called to say that he's bringing over his 2000 Nassau Blue Fixed Roof Coupe that just got finished getting the Katech "Johnny O'Connell" package. Within an hour another friend had just picked up a new Jetstream Blue Z06 which he knew I wanted to see. Here is some pretty cool shots from today.

Damn that Katech Vette is nice, but man I just LOVE that C6 Z06

Not a fan of the tails on the C5. They're interesting, but look funky.

The C6 is gorgeous. Too bad they changed the wheels on the Z06 (or are the old ones still an option? I liked the thin 10 spoked wheels they originally came with in '06)

I wouldn't have said I was a fan of that color before today. But

Beautiful cars.

There is a guy in town with a C6 Convertible in that exact same blue color. Not usually a fan of that type of blue but it just looks amazing on the Corvette, especially with the sea of red and yellow ones in my town.

oh man...that Z06 is where its at! I got to ride in one once, it was great. There's an Atomic Orange one that's in the parking garage at work...so sexy. Those non Z06 fixed roof C5's are def rare

Love that Nassau Blue C5, hardly any cars were painted in that color and it was only around for a couple of model years. What sort of engine work is done to it??? Katech doesn't f#$k around either, so I'm sure its stout and would probably wipe the floor with that newer Z06.

I'm not a fan of light blue cars, but it really works well with Corvettes and Camaros.

idk man about wiping the floor, A good driver can get a stock C6 Z06 below 11.4 stock in the 1/4...i've seen it. Actually on Corvette Blog someone broke 10's in a stock one.. That C5 would be a low 13 sec car stock, not sure his exact mods but he may run neck and neck with the Z06

What sort of engine work is done to it??? Katech doesn't f# around eitherThe car is Katech serial numbered 4 for what's known as the "Johnny O'Connell racing package", it's for the most part a strong motor bolt-on package. Heads, GM hot cam, timing chain, intake, throttle body, and tune to the PCM for about 450 RWHP. I have already driven it multiple times and can say that it's every bit of that h.p. and perhaps more.

Jason and his staff at Katech not only did an incredible turnaround time on it for the C5/C6 bash in two weeks that we're going to, but were incredibly surgical on the work done and the care to the vehicle while it was there.

I have to agree on the Atomic orange mention here too, that's the color I have. ;)

Those pictures suck. You ruined them with a Caliber...

When looking at the side profile view, it's interesting to see how much changed on the C6 - except for the main body line from nose to tail, they almost look like different cars... C6 almostlooks Acuraish. Both are nice tho! I like the Z06 myself.

Not a worthy replacement for the SRT-4 imo....

The C6 is SO much the better looker IMO. Much more aggressive and it's nice that they finally did away with those '60s vintage pop up headlights. But yeah, the SRT-4 Caliber is NO replacement for the SRT-4 Neon.

I have a friend that bought an 09 Vette in that color. I swear it's best color on a Vette and it's kinda rare.

I really love me some hot C6 action. A C6 'vette is actually on my list of possible soon-to-be cars, because my dad offered to go 50/50 with me if I wanted to get one

The Neon was the perfect example of how little the big 3 'get' small cars....

No denying that, the SRT-4 Neon's biggest selling point was not it's interior, but it was a lot quicker than the Caliber.
