I know this may be agains the rules, so if a moderator has any problem with this post please close it.

There is an advertising web site on the internet promising free iPods. Its set up like a pyramid scheme type of thing so it left me a little sceptical. But.... both CNN and Wired.com have done stories on the site and have both verified that it is in fact a real legitimate deal. Also if you do a google search you will find that a number of people have received their iPod and as proof scanned the invoices.

You can check out the story here

To participate follow these steps

1) Create a yahoo e-mail account because the company is going to spam you

2) follow this link
http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=8131878

3) Sign up for a promotion like "1 Month Free AOL" and cancel it after a few days so that you get credit.

4) Get 5 people to sign up and do the same

We can start a conga line in this thread so that we can refer each other

The spam is how they make their money. They count on you not being able to get 5 people to sign up. Thats why I suggested making a yahoo e-mail account, that way they can send all the spam they want to send.

When I originally got my small small 128 meg Nomad II...it fit duty well -- enough music for cutting the grass! But since school ended, I haven't brought it out...maybe it IS time for an upgrade to a 4gig ipod...

I wont touch anything that is calculated in Megs, I have to be able to fit my entire collection on whatever it is, which is currently around 8-10gig of stuff. Theres a few players that round out my top 5:

Ipod
The NEW (FINALLY) 20GB Sony Network Walkman
RCA Lyra Audio/Video Player
Digital Innovations Neuros Digital Audio Player (Has a built in FM Transmitter)

er...make that 4
