There is an advertising web site on the internet promising free iPods. Its set up like a pyramid scheme type of thing so it left me a little sceptical. But.... both CNN and Wired.com have done stories on the site and have both verified that it is in fact a real legitimate deal. Also if you do a google search you will find that a number of people have received their iPod and as proof scanned the invoices.
You can check out the story here
http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64614,00.html
To participate follow these steps
1) Create a yahoo e-mail account because the company is going to spam you
2) follow this link
http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=8131878
3) Sign up for a promotion like "1 Month Free AOL" and cancel it after a few days so that you get credit.
4) Get 5 people to sign up and do the same
We can start a conga line in this thread so that we can refer each other
