What Previous cars has everyone had? Why not rank them from 1st car to present car in order of purchased...fun to see the evolution :)

1997 Chevy Camaro V6- 2000-2004- My 1st car...got it when I was still 15, man I beat the crap out of this thing, lost my virginity in it and it eventually just died at 108k miles...I was very Kiddish with this poor car. Guy I sold it too turned it into a drag car though
1966 Ford Galaxie- 2001- Sold it for $1200 in great shape, Man i still regret that
1986 Ford Bronco- 2003- Loud, Ugly, POS
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP- 2003-2004- Had it modded out to run 12's as a DD.
2001 Chevrolet Camaro Conv- V6 2004-2006- Only a V6 but I won a few show awards with it
1991 Acura Legend- 2004-2007- Greatest car ever, thing had 238k miles when we got rid of it, besides a broke belt once it started everyday with no problems
2006 Grand Prix- 2006-2009 Got ran into a wall at 65mph....thing held up like a tank
2007 Kia Spectra- Wifes Current car- Bought New 2007
2006 Cadillac Cts- Current Car- Bought 2009

I think for being 25 I've owned quite a few cars... CTS will become my wifes car in 1-2 years and I plan on getting a CTS Coupe next...

I'm not even gonna attempt to go through the list. I think I'm over 150 cars though. Mostly American with a few Japanese and European cars thrown into the mix. Cars, trucks, SUV's, vans, custom vans, t-top cars, convertibles, hard tops, you name it. 90% have been V8 cars. :cool2:

First car:
1991 Buick Regal-burgandy on burgandy velour, 3.8 V6 Ran her hard, had quite a few electrical problems, but the car probably had over 175k when I got it(odo broke) Was our family car, bought new by my mom, lots of memories.

1990 Seville STS- first "Cadillac", but that's being generous. Small and ugly, but very nicely finished. Pearl white over peanut butter leather, lots of cool wood trim. Hated the ugly digital dash, just a weird layout. 4.5 V8 in a car the size of a Honda Civic was pretty fun though

1988 Toyota truck- 2wd, reg cab. 5 speed, 22R with a carb. Had such amazing features as carpeting, power steering, cold a/c, stripes, cloth bench, chrome bumpers, and a cigarette lighter!!! Ran awesome and was super clean, no rust at all. Still regret selling it, I haven't seen a nicer one since

1999 Camaro Z28- LS1/automatic. First car I really fell in love with. Boring ass automatic tranny eventually led me to sell it after 5 years of ownership.

1991 Cadillac Brougham- Definetly the biggest, most obnoxious car ever. Gotta love the throw back styling combined with all the nice stuff of a newer car like fuel injection, working a/c, abs, and its super reliable.

1998 Camaro Z28 drop top- LS1/manual. I really wanted a fun car with a manual trans, and this is way more intersting than a Honda I could've bought for similar $$$.

Wow, a Brougham and an STS. You couldn't get much more opposite than that from Cadillac in the early '90s!

If you can't tell I wasn't very fond of that early STS. Except for the Brougham, Cadillac is dead to me from about 1985 to 1992.

1974 Toyota Celica ST (1982-89): Got me through high school, college and my first year out on my own; would love to find another one as another classic, fun car.
1989 Hyundai Excel GS (1989-91): No power, scary brakes, but it didn't break.
1991 Chevrolet Corsica LTZ (1991-95): Surprisingly fast and good handling. Gave GM another chance, and it proved very reliable.
1995 Honda Accord LX coupe (1995-98): Nice, but bland.
1999 Honda Accord EX coupe (1998-2005): Much more involving than the '95; good power for a 4-cylinder and sharp handling.
1964 Chevrolet Impala (1999-present): Got back a big part of my past when I got Betty; I'll never sell her.
1991 Cadillac Sedan de Ville (2005-2010): Bought for $995 with 200,000 miles on her; after taking care of neglected maintenance, she's been reliable; now at 258,000. Tons of character. Going to my niece in North Dakota next month.
2001 Cadillac Seville SLS (2009-present): Nicest car I've owned by far. Perfect balance of luxury and performance, beautiful and elegant inside and out.
Considering this list goes back nearly 30 years, I haven't owned that many cars. I'm usually choosy about what I buy, so I tend to be satisfied for a long time (with a couple of exceptions).

To clarify, the cars in my sig are the ones I've actually owned. The '70 GP was my parents' when I was in school, and in addition, they had '77 and '83 Grand Prixs that I would drive during high school and college. When I got out of school, and had a real job, the first car I purchased was the '92 Toronado.

My first car - '03 Chevy Impala 3.4L. I drove this for a year and sold it because it was too expensive (I don't mean in repairs). I wanted a car and used every dime I had to get it. Was a great car. Paid $6,000 for it. A year later, I sold it for $6,500.

Second car - '97 Nissan Altima GLE. Another great car, which I got for 1/3 of the price of the Impala. I drove this for 2.5 years until it needed a new front end. I sold this for $200 less than I bought it for :p

Current car - '97 Cadillac Seville SLS. Immediately fell in love with this car. I will only be able to replace it with a newer, better model of the same car :p

Chad, why such a short time w/the RM? I'm surprised you kept the S as long as you did -- I thought it was shorter.

I bought the Roadmaster because my parents didn't want me to have a Cadillac (expensive ownership costs), and they wouldn't let me have a Trans Am (expensive insurance costs), so I got what was a combination of them both...the power of an L98 Trans Am with the luxury of a Cadillac. It proved to be too large for a 17 year old driver's first car, and I despised the red leather interior, and after a few months, my parents didn't have the issues they used to about Cadillacs, so that's how I got my deVille. Looking back on it, I really didn't give that car enough credit and I had a lot of fun in it.

I would buy another LT1 Roadmaster, just as long as it doesn't have the red interior.

It took Chad a while to come to grips with the fact that the S was literally eating him out of house and home. And, in all fairness, it was a really cool, special car.

Yeah, that sums it up in a nutshell. That was a very hard car to sell, but it had to be done.

It took Chad a while to come to grips with the fact that the S was literally eating him out of house and home. And, in all fairness, it was a really cool, special car.

Craig, I swear, you are Chad's advocate, spokesperson, interpreter, life coach, counselor, what else?! :)

I don't know, I sort of felt the same vibe there from you for awhile when it was getting closer to Caddy crunch time. (I'm still pretty pissed about how that whole thing turned out, sort of...)

Let's not reference that. lol

Though, I was remarking the time when I had acquired my nice massive check (which eventually went to pay for the wagon anyway, and not that I'm disappointed with it in any way, but yeah, still a bit of a downer).

Sting are you talking about when your Cadillac was on again, off again, then on again, off again, then on and on and on, then off, no way, no how, then maybe, then no, then big no, then ain't gonna happen? :) It was like watching an endless Proctor and Gamble soap opera in black and white! I just about needed a liver transplant for the second time during all that. :) Don't even tell me that check you got was from the government with my micropercentage of tax dollars in that Caprice Wagon of yours... ;)

Sting, You can put your list of cars up now. You have a sexy list for a guy your age living in a bin of win! :) Did I hear you are chopping up your Fleetwood? I bet you can make a pretty penny with your dismantling efforts. I love posting in these things, though I wonder how many people actually look through the whole thing. I for one skimmed. Anyway, here's my list.

1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2-door. My first car, was in the family since new, sold it last year due to Michigan frame rot. (I mean, if you hoisted it up, the frame came off the back end of the car. No shit.)

1996 Cadillac Sedan Deville. My first Cadillac, new condition cosmetically, but had a nervous breakdown at 100,000 mi. traded for my dark blue '90 Brougham.

1983 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. My first RWD Cadillac. What a car.

The rest I still have. Longest running car ownership (if you don't count the Cutlass) is my '90 Brougham d'Elegance which I've had since 2005. Never let me down, & looked classy the whole time.

I don't recall owning an Italian car - must have been really cocktailed up for that one. :)

The 2007 Honda came about after I sold my business and wanted a brand new rock solid cheap yet reasonably stylish and reliable car since I no longer had my own personal mechanic to fix the oddball cars I had previously enjoyed. I dumped that 07 Honda because it was really boring and the Prius people were trying to chum up to me. My 79 Caddy, which is my anti-Prius, is far more fun to drive in this day and age where environmental crazies can not win! :)

I ignore them - wouldn't dignify them with my recognition. A prius and a 79 Cadillac are both symbols of pretty specific messages. They resent my car and I intensely dislike theirs. The difference is I tolerate their car and they want to legislate mine into extinction. :)

I had to sit and think about this for a while.

From first to current.

1988 Ranger 2WD Ext Cab V6 5 spd
1992 Buick Roadmaster
1983 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser (winter beater flat black with Flames!)
2000 Ford Escort ZX2 (first brand new car, panicked when Gas hit $1.65 LOL. I also worked at a Ford dealer all through college)
1975 Cadillac Coupe deville d’Elegance. (still have, had since 2000 been in the family for years before that)
2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0 Auto. (bought after putting up with the ZX2 for a year)
1989 Ranger XLT 4x2 I-4 5spd (paid $50 from some skater kid, and it drove like a brand new truck, only 89K miles)
2004 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 Level II 5spd (best truck ever made IMO, bought as a College grad gift to myself before I left the ford dealer)
1991 Ford Explorer 4x4 4.0 5 spd. (someone gave me a plow for an explorer so I bought this truck for $800 to plow my driveway, it had 200K and still runs, My neighbor has it)
2000 Explorer 4.0 4x4 Auto (bought from my Dad after I sold my Level II to buy a house)
1992 Buick Roadmaster (Beautiful car still, I sold it to my Friend Scotty who has turned it into a real nice car)
1977 GMC C15 long bed with a 250 I-6 and a Three on the tree (the coolest old farm truck ever and only had 60K miles)
1995 Impala SS DGGM (This car was a nightmare, cleanest one I have seen, but the motor went three weeks after I owned it)
1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab auto 4x4 (bought it from a 90 year old man in 2008 with 38K miles, it has been a great truck)

I have trouble tolerating most of them. They're very pompous people.

Like, I kid you not, the other day I went to Wal Mart to get some laundry soap, because I was out. I drove over, parked, and got out of the car, and this typical tool environmentalist guy actually stopped and asked me why I drove "such a large car" when I was by myself. There's a difference between caring about the environment, and being an ******* to every person you see who's different from you. I assume the latter from Prius owners.

My 86 FWB is my first and only car for now..

Once I can afford it, I'm hoping to get a 199x Pontiac Grand am or something to park in mall parking lots and drive in the winter, since I work at a store in a mall and I always have to get a ride from someone or take the bus in order to keep my paint, wheel covers and logos intact.
At that point I'd also do a minor restoration on the Caddy and keep it in a dry garage in the winter. :)

From first purchased to current:

1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille - Paid $200 for it. Tought me the meaning of floor-rot and what Michigan winters can do.
1997 Chevrolet Cavalier - Got it from my grandparents. Daily Driver. THANKS GUYS! :cloud9:
1991 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe - Bought it cheap, planned to fix it, sold it so I could buy another Cadillac. Only car I really regret selling.
1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille - My pride and joy. Awaiting a heart transplant this spring.
1992 Chevrolet Caprice - Bought it for the engine for an engines class at college. Sold it after I found an engine for the (current) DeVille.
1990 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance - Bought it VERY cheap. Needed head-gaskets. Turns out it needs an engine. Might have a line on one though...

No motorcycles. I've thought about getting one, but I don't think I'd look too good twisted around a tree. :)
