Hello all, glad to say I am new here! Just put a deposit down on a '89 D'elegance with 73k for 4400.00 looked long and hard, this was the best one I found. Interior is showroom new and everything works. Anyway the moldings on the side of the car are beginning to yellow from age, any idea of how to whiten these up a bit without replacing or painting them (not that I would paint them) but just want to make them nice and white again. Thanks for all your help and this board looks pretty cool!

My 89s side door strips had turned ugly yellow and I painted them with vinyl paint. A year later they still look great.

What exactly do you mean by door moldings? The little chrome piece on the bottom, or the plastic horizontal piece that runs along the side of the car? And how did it turn yellow? I have the same car, and I can't think of anything like that on mine.

Not really "yellow" just dingy looking, looking to whiten them up a bit they are still in good shape. Refering to the plastic ones in middle of door, not chrome ones.

Hmm.. is your car white? Mine is red and was repainted. Those moldings were painted as well so they match the red metallic paint perfectly. I guess they weren't like that originally.

Yes, car is white. Just didnt want to make them look like crap by painting them but I guess if I got the right paint, it would cover ok. Not really yellow, just aged, still in good shape.
