Hey, not quite sure if this belongs here but Im having a problem.

I have a 92 deville that has been sitting for the past year. I regularly turned it on and had it running for awhile then would turn it off but I never really drove the car around. I tried to drive the car and when i try to start it, it needs to be jumpstarted.After that it was running for a good 5 minutes and i put it in drive, drove around for about 5 minutes and it began to stutter. Almost like i was pressing the gas but the engine was stuttering. I opened the hood and the belts were speeding up and slowing down. I have no clue at all what the problem is so i was wondering if you have any suggestions? The car has 200K on it but when it was used often it was all highway miles. The car says its Full on gas but i was thinking could the gas be old? there was no problems whatsoever before with this car and it hasnt been driven at all. Thanks in advance for your time! :bouncy:

Could be old gas, could be your fuel pump is protesting. Sometimes, a pump when it sits for a period of time after use will stick. I would run a pressure and a volume check on the pump, and I would also change the filter before you try to drive the car. If the gas is a year old or more, draining the tank isn't a bad idea either. You could give the gas to some unsuspecting Yugo owner. :lildevil:

you might have water in your tank. go to your local auto store and get this stuff called dry gas and put it in your tank.
