Hello,

I just noticed this hours ago on the way home tonight.

When going over a bump, a (disturbing) quite loud clunk (or thud) type sound is heard from the front of the car. Seems like a suspension component or something in that area.

What in the world could this be? It sounds terrible, I am afraid this is going to cost serious $$$$ to repair.

I'm probably going to bring it in first thing Monday and not drive it until the ride down. Fortunately my mechanic is only 10 minutes away.

Thhanks anyone.

Most likely cause is stabilizer bar. It could be the bushings around the bar at the subframe are worn or missing. It could also be that the link bolt is not tight at the bar or control arm. Check it out before spending big bucks at a dealer.

Hi,

Upon further listening of the noise, I would say it sounds more like a rattle.

It sounds like something is loose under there somewhere, not saying that's what it is, however.
