Hi guys,

I'm in the process of doing some touchups and I would like to know what the best way is to blend and smooth the paint.

I did it all with brushes, so it's a little rough, but I got the color to match pretty good.

So far, I primed it/wet sanded the primer.
Applied basecoat/wet sanded the basecoat.
Applied midcoat -> in the process of drying.

It definitely needs to be smoothed out since I used brushes on a larger area than I should have, but I'm confident that I can blend it/smooth it out pretty well.

Should I wet sand the midcoat prior to applying the clearcoat? Should I also buff the midcoat with rubbing compound?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

How long should I wait before sanding/buffing a coat of fresh paint?

Color sanding is a must. You need a smooth surface for every phase because it will show through the final finish.

color sand with 600 grit. anything over 600 will not allow a mechanical bond.
