I am currently working items out with RSM Racing, to have them engineer a supercharger kit for the Catera. I do this because they have a kit available for the CTS and its 3.2 engine, which as some know is just a larger version of our 3.0 (with some upgrades and differences).

The issue right now is, not only making the kit but finding out conflicts and finding ways to make it work. With my research and theirs it might just happen.

In the future though, they will need a 99 or newer Catera in the Toronto area or in Canada in general. Ill contact them again when this is possible.

The rear end on the CTS is just as weak... Catera_V lives with his ... and he has 500 hp and 500 ftlbs of torque. Just dont plan on burning out. Which you shouldnt do anyways.

Update: Those wishing to know what the status is... at this moment they are cought up in preparing for SEMA. Nothings going on right now- even related to any other project. (what it sounded like).

...As i send this email off im beginning to wonder: Who would show interest or put up the money to get this done (if it were to happen) ? Im going to guess that the price will be anywhere from 3000 to 6000 US and possibly more if there are significant modifications needed.

Wow. I thought they only made one Steinmetz Catera... i never knew of any other Catera having this done. They stopped making the kit not too long ago.

I wonder what status that Catera's in... it looks like the brake master cylinder cap is missing, and some other stuff like the master relays hanging down. :suspense:

I dont know yet. RSM has not begun any process reguarding our car to give any data.

Steinmetz got 80+ hp more out of the Catera. I wish I knew if they did any driveline mods but their list seems to only show what they put on it from steinmetz.

When I've enquired of Steinmetz distributors in England, they advise that they also have cam upgrades and a significantly lighter flywheel for the 3.0 in the Catera. John

I too would be interested in exploring the SC for my 99' but I am looking more closely at the Catera V, with the Ligenfelter engine, and I am looking for a complete power-train. It is the coach itself that I am interested in utilizing, the current engine and transmission is not somthing in my opinion that should be modded (i.e. abused)
My fear is that I put 7-9k under the hood, and have the timing belt fail, or the Frenchie transmission fail. and be back at square one.
I pulled my black 99' with 62k miles on it out of the back of the storage unit yesterday, after months of storage, to wash it, and run it for a while. After a bath, I realized that she is still a magnificent auto. She has beautiful lines, the right kind of running gear to make a champ. Just a couple of things needed to make her a keeper, about 150 more horsepower, and some real brakes. (stock brakes far too small for such a heavy auto)
If anyone else has similar desires for a V8 powered Catera, or has begun the research, or knows a good speed shop that could handle the mods. Please mail me. I will continue to post about my adventures with my Catera!:devil:

I know this initial posting isn't very recent, but I do have a 2001 Catera Sport and I live in Ontario. 3 Hour Drive to Toronto. Could you give me an update?

Im not sure about the Airflow sensors, but if you really wanted to supercharge your car you could buy an ATI procharger or something of that sort, and have some piping made up?

I wrote an e-mail to Steinmetz a couple days ago about a supercharger for the Cat. The answer was that they no longer provide parts for Cateras. Too bad, but worth a try...

Hey how ya doing it sounds like a good idea the thing is how are you planing to lower the compresion what type of waste gate do you have build how much boost and what type of heads will you use ,will the intake ports be smaller how about the exhaust ports and the headers how big will it have to be and will it fit . I will be willing if i can see the plans and how much the cost will be for fabrication. Hit me back

You do realize this thread is 4 years old right? There never was enough demand to produce a supercharger kit for a catera. One off custom setups have been made but its really not worth the effort. Pontiac G8 sounds good at this point :)
