I have a 90 Brougham d'Ellegance, with the 307 Olds in it. I was wondering what I could do to A) keep her running well. and B) Get as much power out of it as possible.
As it is, she runs great, looks good(going to fix some of the rust spots soon), only had a few issues with her.(new radiator, new water pump, new alternator, loose valve covers). I've put a K&N air filter on her, and use 93 octane(knocks when you shut her off if I use anything lower)
Any tips?

There are a few posts around about that. Do a search or have a look through this section of the forum and the 5 & 5.7L section and you'll probably find something.
What colour is your car? Mine has the 5.7L engine.

will do.
mine is White/White, with red inside.

Your car looks great!! Too bad its only a 307, Cadillac should have made the 350 standard....this heavy car needs the torque!! I have a blue '92 and its great to hear many people give me thumbs up or compliments.....we own fine cars!

Justin,
Someone just asked a week or two ago about the 307 VIN Y model. Evidently it was in some towing packages and in Olds 442s during the 80's. Here's the thread (http://cadillacforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18279) I don't know if there's anything that's easily changeable...prolly not, but you could always go the Old 350 or 403 route someday...same engine mounts, etc., I think, though emissions might be a problem.

thanks for the link. checking it out now. Yes, emissions will be a problem here in Mass. I'm sure I could get around it since the inspection station is run by a neighbor ;-) but I'd really like to keep it legal of course. what I'd REALLY like is the new Northstar VVT w/ the 5L50 tranny :p . mmm, power and fuel economy. eh. Still, thanks for the links. very helpful. Is there a limit to how big of an engine I could get into this thing? I've seen someone here did a caddy 500 in a 1980 fleetwood, not sure how much has changed between that year and mine.
