i'm buying a car next month, but i'm down to about 3k+possible loan from my dad because of a recent financial crisis...and it seems like a '93 or '94 ETC with ~120k miles can be had for around 3k maybe a little more (correct me if i'm wrong there)...but i'm wondering if it's worth it
at first glance it has what i want...a bit of power but comfy and plenty of room with a pretty stylish design....beats the hell out of driving a gimpy focus or something around *shivers*
but i'm wondering...am i going to see major electrical problems from it within the next year or 2? it's already 10 years old and rumors abound of cadillacs and expensive electrical problems. personally i've never owned one and don't know anyone who has so i have no clue...but i'm really worried. i'll have pretty much $0 in the bank so if something goes wrong...i'm well...screwed. my best friend's dad is a badass mechanic but he mainly works on older cars and stuff...hates doing electronics...so he could help me squeeze some life out of the engine for a good long time but can't help with electronic stuff (how long should the engine be good for without major repairs anyways?).
if it was me..i'd prolly just go out and buy it...but if i have to convince my dad to spot me a couple hundred then i gotta convince him it's stable and all that...and i don't have the knowledge to do that right now :/
the only other problem i see is mileage but that seems to be pretty decent...hitching rides in my friend's '68 cuda might have softened me a bit on the mileage issue tho ^^
thanks for any help you kind experts can offer
