: Should I watch Glee?

I heard it was from the creators of Nip/Tuck, a great show that turned awful, so I've been reluctant to start. But they also appear to do covers of my favorite pop songs.

YAY? NAY? PLEASE OPINE.

I actually like the show cause it reminds me of the variety show I produced and directed in Vegas for 4 years. Much of the same drama, humor and great performances. Its not very realistic, cause it never shows the hard work of coreography, staging, or voice lessons, but the audience only sees the payoff anyway.

In HD and 5.1 xtereo its a pretty good show.

I have not watched it, but it stars Jane Lynch, and she's been great in everything I've seen her in, so it's worth at least a look. I'll probably check it out via Netflix.

If I were to watch it for any one person, it would be Jayma Mays...

Watching the pilot episode right now and greatly enjoying all the pop songs. Not sure how they'll license it for DVD release.

I think its crazy-hot that her character is super picky about cleanliness. I'm the same way about my teeth.

I'm a total germaphobe. If I don't know you wash your hands, or if I think you shake hands too much, you get a fist bump. I use fuel gloves or paper towels at the gas pump. And don't dare put my silverware on a bare table. And I should own stock in Soft Soap and Vaseline for their hand lotion.

But I also have not had as much as a sniffle in over 2 years and haven't had the flu in 3.

I'll gladly admit that I buy hand lotion in bulk. In a northern climate, with how often I wash my hands? My skin will break and bleed if I don't use the stuff...

I hate handshakes. When shaking, I always look at someone's hands, not their face. As a yellow fellow, I was raised on putting my hands together and bowing.

I'll probably check it out via Netflix.Got the first DVD Wednesday, and two episodes in, I'm hooked. Jane Lynch is marvelously malevolent, but the rest of the cast is great, too. Will is completely believable, the principal (Indian?) cracks me up, and germophobe Emma is adorable. Considering how awful Terri is, I see an affair between Will and Emma in the future.

I've enjoyed all of the musical numbers, but I was completely blown away by their rendition of Journey's Don't Stop Believing. Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, has got an incredible voice. Power and control.

Glee is a good show. It is definitely aimed at a younger high school audience, and alot of the subplots are very tiring, imo. The season was more then half over before I watched an episode, but Im glad I started. The music is enough to keep me watching, but the cast is well chosen, too. Jane Lynch is hilarious as usual...love her in everything Ive seen her do. Plus, they covered safety dance!

What really struck me as I watched it again was the, dare I say it, glee in their performance. As somebody who has sung in choirs and ensembles (but who is sadly lacking in talent, especially compared to these kids), I completely get that thrill, that joy when you sing with both your heart and voice.

Season 2 has been a little spotty in quality, but I still love the show. Last night's installment with Gwyneth Paltrow was probably the best one to date; she was great. Next week should be even better with the legendary Carol Burnett playing Sue's mom. And Kurt's dad is marrying Finn's mom. I love Burt and Carole together, so I'm happy that storyline from Season 1 is continuing. But *spoiler alert* I'm afraid the terribly toxic Terri is going to get pregnant from her little one-night stand with Will as a way to keep her relevant on the show. :dammit: I was yelling at the TV when she started rubbing his back with Vapo-Rub, "No! Don't sleep with her, you idiot!" And when Sue revealed that her exotic European car (http://dailypostal.com/2010/11/17/le-car-on-glee-episode/) was a '79 Le Car (http://www.jacktimes.com/entertainment/tv/lecar-throughout-the-years.html), I laughed my ass off.

I LOVED the Le Car joke! I actually paused before she said it was a LeCar to try and guess what she was describing. I was thinking maybe a BMW or beastly Mercedes. NOPE!

That episode was a little strange, but hilarious nonetheless.

"Highly sought after by collectors, and one of only seven made." LOL.I was thinking some Ferrari or other exotic. Even a Saab. Le Car came completely out of nowhere, but that's what made it so friggin' hilarious.
