I own an 04 SRX V8. I had to do battle with my wife to get her to accept this car. We had always owned foreign (BMW 325XI wagon, Infiniti QX4), because of reliability concerns with American cars. At 400 miles, the SRX spewed oil all over a neighbor's (and then my) driveway - how embarrassing! The car went in for service for a week and the seal on the transfer case was replaced. The car now has 4,600 miles; this weekend, upon start-up, it began shaking violently and making odd noises. Once the shaking stopped, the car again began leaking oil all over my driveway; back to the service center and now my two year old driveway looks like a Rorschack test. Now my wife has taken the justified "I told you so" stance and I am in a pickle. I wish they would just give me another truck or take this SUV back. I should have just given in and bought the Lexus she wanted. At $55K, this should not be happening. I will not make this mistake again. Anyone with similar experiences?
