Anyone know where the Onstar module is located on an 08 Escalade EXT?

Trying to install the Bluestar bluetooth unit!

Make sure you got the antenna for the bluetooth!

To be 100% accurate it is behind the climate control part of the dash under the nav unit...don't know about non nav equipped vehicles. I tried (and succeeded) to remove the whole black bracket holding it but it has a screw that is screwed in front to rear in the rear that is almost impossible to get back in/out. The side retainers are really tough to open enough to remove the unit. Put a buttter knife or something similar between the clips and case. I found it easier for me to remove the two front screws and let the bracket move down in the front to get the VCIM out. You will probably have to remove the nav unit because the VCIM connector wires are short and its hard to get to them to release which in my vehicle was necessary before I could get the VCIM fully out of the bracket area.

You dont need no antenna for the 2010 bluestar.Just unplug two white plugs from vcim onstar unit and plug into bluestar unit.I hope you have better luck with this bluestar unit im removing mine tomorrow and sending it back nothing but a complete waste of time.It needs more testing.Good luck.

You remove the radio and HVAC control, don't try to unbolt the bracket, it has tabs that hold the unit in place.
Just push the tabs away from the module and lift up the front, slide it forward as far as you can then get your fingers in there to release the tabs on the connectors.

ewill3rd is right. I forgot about the tabs which require removal of the radio.
