I put Eibachs in. Front slammed down and I knew I needed spacers from read posts but waited too long. Front tires wore out on the inside from rubbing on something. I also had an aggressive camber alignment. So, I now have new tires and need to put the spacers in but where. I'm thinking 1/2 spacers - do they go on top of strut or bottom? thnx
Front Spacers??..... im pretty sure the only spacers are on the rear shocks.. the spacers fool the shocks into think your a stock ride height so they don't jack up the rear with the new springs..
Yes the spacers for the rear is all set. A previous thread mentioned the need for front spacers because the Eibachs drop the front too low. I don't have pics but the tires were worn to belts at the top, inside corner. Could be the aggressive camber but I also heard guys here putting spacers in the front to prevent this?
I wonder if it's the combination of Eibach pro kit + aggressive street alignment (I got the alignment spec from this forum)? Has anyone else seen this bad tire wear with the same combo? I have new tires to put on and need to fix it before they wear again.
If the wear was from the tires rubbing you would have heard it grinding and also felt it through the steering wheel. Excessive wear as you describe is from the aggresive camber.
Strange but I couldn't hear, or feel it grinding the top inside edge of the tires? Wierd too that I couldn't find and 'witness' marks or rubber shavings or shiny spots on the struts? I'm going to have the tires mounted and the camber adjusted back and try to see if any rubbing is possible with the new setup. too bad because the aggressive alignment made a huge difference in corners....
Dropping the front end that much will change the alignment specs all on its own. You will need to get re-aligned to spec after the drop.
