Thank you...

Slide show with photos and music. I know he was a big fan of classic rock, as he was born 20 years later than his time :)

Sounds like a pretty good idea. Something everyone can visit. I remember when a guy from the truck forum I'm on died in a wheeling accident and they set up a website for him, got a lot of attention and donations.

What type of classic rock? There's mine (80s) and then there's Led Zeppelin, Greatful Dead, etc... I can put together a slideshow but I MAY need help with the music part of it...

Using Chad as a guideline, I'd say 60s and 70s stuff, Beatles, Stones, Zep, Rush, Steely Dan. Along those lines. I'm sure Chad and Jesda will have suggestions for specific pieces.

Here you go, Sal. In his own words. :(

Been thinking about life a lot lately, been a little down. Things are just not working out right for me at the moment. I heard this in McDonald's a few days ago and it has been stuck in my mind ever since. Its such a beautiful song.

I don't recall JD being a 60's/70's music fan. He liked Dave Matthews Band.

Thanks, RT. I was going by Chad's remark that he and JD had similar tastes in music, and since Chad tends to favor classic rock, I went with the flow. My bad.

At least now he has the peace he sought and the knowledge that so many people care for him.

If you need help picking out some DMB songs, let me know, they are one of my favorite bands.

God, I can't remember what DMB song he had on his computer in our room during the meet. It wasn't a real well known one.

I seem to remember him liking a lot of '90s alternative music. His Facebook page says he likes "anything but country and rap", so that doesn't really narrow anything down.

OMG, one of the last songs he posted on Facebook (like on Wednesday) was CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA.
"How many special people change
How many lives are living strange
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you while we were getting high?

Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky"

Yeah, that'd be a great tribute song.

If you remember any lyrics or how you think a part of the song went, post it up, I might be able to recognize it.

RT posted some of the more well known ones above.

Those were two that he mentioned.

Somebody should send me a zip file with images for the slideshow... Once I get that taken care of, we'll put some music in. I know I've seen people post links to important topics related to JD - and it would be nice if someone would copy and paste them here. Someone with spare time...

Thanks, guys.. What I really need at this point is links to discussions we want on his memorial. Pictures I can grab from Facebook and run them by all of you to see which ones should make it onto the slideshow. But that's the easy part...

Sal, I put a few on the main thread, one where he bought the Brougham, one the Lincoln, and one was a road trip thread that was a good read.

I don't know if you remember, but there was a thread a few months back ago called "What's Your Personal Theme Song", JD posted Molly Hatchet's "Flirting With Disaster", a great song, a song I downloaded probably two months after he posted that.
