: Let's vote! When should the summer meet be?

The best times to do it are:

May/Early June (1st weekend)
-or-
Late July/August

It can get awfully hot in the late July, and humid as well. I'd personally rather do it earlier than later, but it's not a huge deal to me.

First weekend of June sounds good. Noone I know of is graduating this year. Too likely to be hot and humid at the end of summer.

May/June is good for me.

I prefer early June as well.

June is usually a busy time for me. Plus, there is Carlisle and V-Day in late June. The SHO Convention is in Dearborn this July 12-16. Either the weekend before or the weekend after makes me a guaranteed attendee.

I can make just about any weekend work, but May/June would probably be better just because of the delightful weather you all have in the Midwest in high Summer.

What is all this whining about the hot weather? Do you kooooop yourselves up in air conditioned shanties in July/August? GTFO!

I have no idea when/if I'll be able to attend. My summer will likely be filled with classes and I may be going to Poland, but I'll let you know when it gets closer.

Heat is divine! Humidity is the suck. I can deal with 100+ temps no problem, its the humidity that kills me. 120 and 5% humidity is way better than 80 and 70% hunidity.

Two things I remembered:

Brian (90Brougham350) and his wife are moving into their first house sometime in May, so it's easier for them if we do it late summer. Also, the MN state fair, which is one of the largest in the country, is late August.

OOhh, state fair! Will there be cotton candy? I love cotton candy! :)

I~LUV~Caddys8792

Yes, lots of cotton candy. The only bad thing about the state fair is we could easily kill an entire day there and not have time for anything else. And you could spend $100 a person there, easily, with food and all.

Still cheaper than Disneyland!

Fairs don't do a thing for me.

I vote no on the fair. It's fun with a few people, but a big group? Forget about it.

I can only spare a weekend either way. How do you guys feel about having it on a holiday weekend so we can get three days?

But you should see me dunk the clown. They fear me. SRSLY. I impressed the honeys at the Vermont State Fair back in '94...

I'm with Craig on humidity. I got very tired of summers in Phoenix, but preferred the blast furnace to being smothered in a damp towel. I was surprised — and pleased — by how nice the weather was in Chicago last August.

But other than June 18-July 11, I can make the trip any time this summer.

Same here, except Poland. I'll do my very best to attend, especially because I've never been to Minnesota.

We can show you 9,999 of our 10,000 lakes. That last one is a real bitch to get to.

The Meccum auction is the 19th and 20th of June. Would be a good way to spend the evening with some classics.

I am still waiting for the car list for Meccum here but the auction this month in Missouri has a Supercharged XLR going in it. :)

Gary D. Can't make it out that weekend. It's not a real meet unless Gary is there. Plus, we're going to Ellingson's car museum in Rogers anyways.
