I have 2001 DTS and I'm going to change the belt tensioner and the belt. The spring is shot in the tensioner!! Do I need a low profile socket for the bolt holding the tensioner. There isnt much room for a socket. I do have a serpentine belt tool kit. I was just curious if anyone on here has changed the tensioner and what is the trick to it. Thanks for your time!

I used a regular socket on my 95 Eldo.

Duplicate post. Be careful with the bolt - don't strip the threads.

My Seville has different equipment in the way, so I'm no help there........

That just gets confusing and very hard to follow. I deleted the other one to keep all the responses here.

I completed the install of the new belt and belt tensior. You must loosen the fuse box bolt and ac reciever plastic and insulation and move everything out of the way to get to the 15mm bolt holding the belt tensioner. Went with the goodyear belt and tensioner. Everything worked out great.
